Holding the Balance
Parenting with presence, patience, and trust in your child’s unfolding
Six 90-Minute Group Sessions
Join me for a 6-week online journey into respectful caregiving, rooted in the Pikler approach. Each week we’ll explore a different theme - from slowing down and building cooperation, to trusting your child’s natural development, and finding presence in everyday care moments.
This course is designed for new and nearly-new parents who may be feeling a little overwhelmed, trying to give your little ones the best start in life whilst juggling work, family and self-care.
This is not a how-to course. It’s a gentle space for reflection, understanding, and connection - with your child and yourself.

Whether you’re new to the Pikler approach or deepening your path, this series offers a chance to slow down, observe, and connect with what matters most.
Here are the topics we’ll explore together:
Week 1: Slowing Down - The pace of childhood. Why slowing down matters for both child and parent.
Week 2: Respectful Care - Everyday care moments as a foundation for trust and cooperation.
Week 3: Free Movement and Natural Development - Trusting your child’s movement development and offering time and space.
Week 4: Play and the Inner World of the Child - The child’s self-chosen play as sacred work.
Week 5: Boundaries without Control - Saying no with care. Guidance, not domination.
Week 6: The Inner Life of the Parent - Honouring your own needs, guilt and capacity.

“Thank you, Rachel. I enjoyed our Thursday session very much. There are always so many things I notice and think about but most of the time I feel like I might be overthinking this whole parenting thing so I usually keep it to myself.
It is great having this environment where it feels safe to share my thoughts. I want to do a great job of being Mum as that’s the project which I have dedicated myself to for the rest of my life. So I do care about the way I execute it. Thank you for being a great listener.
I look forward to learning more!”
